ABOUT ALI BABYLON TOURS
Your Friend in Iraq.
Your Guide to Mesopotamia.
Born near the ruins of Babylon, raised in Baghdad. I’ve spent my life between two worlds — the rich history beneath my feet and the travellers who arrive curious but cautious.
MY STORY
I didn’t become a tour guide. I’ve been showing friends around Iraq my whole life.
“When did you start giving tours?” People ask me this all the time. The honest answer is: I never really started. It just happened.
I grew up listening to my grandfather’s stories about Babylon — the hanging gardens, Nebuchadnezzar, the Lion of Babylon. As a kid, I’d explore the marshes of the south, get happily lost in Baghdad’s old markets, and beg my family to take me to every ruin within driving distance.
When friends from abroad started visiting Iraq, I’d take them to see the places I grew up loving. Not the Iraq on the news — the real Iraq. The one with 5,000 years of history, incredible food, and people who’ll invite you into their home before you’ve even told them your name.
Every time, the same thing happened. They’d say: “Ali, you should do this for real.”
So here I am. I built Ali Babylon Tours because I believe Iraq deserves to be seen — not from behind a news headline, but from the seat next to a friend who knows every corner of it.
I live in Baghdad, I operate across the entire country — from the Kurdish mountains in the north to the marshlands of the south — and I treat every guest the way I’d treat a friend visiting my home. Because that’s exactly what you are.

WHY TRAVEL WITH ALI
What I promise every guest
Honest Prices
What I quote is what you pay. No surprise fees, no tourist markup, no hidden costs. I’ll tell you upfront what everything costs — including the parts most guides leave vague.
Safe & Reliable
Your safety is my reputation. I know which areas are welcoming to tourists and which to avoid. I handle logistics, permits, and local contacts so you can focus on the experience.
Actually Fun
A tour with me isn’t a lecture — it’s a story. I’ll take you to the kebab place only locals know, introduce you to the chai seller who’s been there for 40 years, and share the stories no guidebook covers.
Fully Flexible
Choose one of my preset itineraries or tell me what you want and I’ll build it. Want an extra day in Kurdistan? Done. Want to skip Karbala and add the marshlands? No problem.
